Found Drawings

8.28.14 West King
The sensitive lines that vary in thickness and direction on this wood, along with the difference in value throughout make this a drawing that illustrates depth and focus using subtle changes in its attributes to emphasize texture.

8.28.14 Backyard
Varied texture in the fence accentuated by color create a nice pattern that bleeds into the lines that convey the wood grain. The subtle movements in the wood are offset by the bold netting that creates a stark contrast with its lines while still offering a sensitivity in its texture and shape.

8.24.14 South Dixie
The white door creates more opportunity for contrast, and the millions of lines that differ in color, texture, width, and direction illustrate the depth and complexity. The peeling paint creates nice geometric shapes and becomes the focus of the drawing, revealing an underlying texture that stands in stark contrast

8.28.14 Backyard
The rigid lines that describe the stairs create a rhythm echoed by the many cracks that flow horizontally, yet remain interesting in all of their subtle variations in color and depth. The stronger textures and color variation in the knots of the wood and the exposed white paint become the focus of the drawing.
