Debris Drawings

To me, trash or debris is an intimate concept. so I chose to depict the debris that I encounter every day.

8.30.14 Front porch
I accumulate a lot of boxes on my front porch and throw them out about every two weeks, so I deconstructed some and arranged them into a blocked drawing.

9.1.14 Bathroom
Hair is often considered beautiful and feminine, but when detached, looks gruesome and uncomfortable, so I stretched lost hair out over a porcelain sink to make it, at first glance, unrecognizable.

9.3.14 Bedroom
I save nicer shopping bags for art projects and generally I forget to take the receipts out, so I went through every one and arranged the receipts from highest to lowest price.

9.4.14 SR-16
I went through the bushes at a shopping plaza and found wire grate and cigarette butts in different stages of decomposition, then arranged them through the holes and photographed both sides of the piece.
